The son of George Reynolds, Charles was born in Wolverhampton in 1895. They were living on Bridgnorth Road, Tettenhall, in 1901, along with Charles’s siblings George, Caroline, Clara, Edith A., and Florence M. By 1911, he was living with his adoptive parents, John Arthur and Jane Jones, at 25 Thomas Street, Aberavon, Glamorgan. Charles had become a tinhouse labourer.

Charles enlisted in the 2nd Battalion of the South Staffordshire Regiment (number 11565). He first served in France from 8 February 1915, but was wounded and died on 10 March 1915. He is remembered at the Le Touret Memorial in France.
