Harold was born in Wolverhampton in 1898, the son of Edward and Amy Rose Walker. In 1911, they were living at 8 Wolverhampton Road, Wednesfield, along with Harold’s siblings Edward, John, Amy Louisa, George, Leonard and Violet May. Harold was a trap maker.
Harold enlisted as a Private with the 7th Service Battalion of the South Staffordshire Regiment (number 18186). He first served in the Balkans from 11 September 1915. He was killed in action on 27 July 1917. He is remembered at the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
