Antonio was born in Wolverhampton in 1898, the son of Italian parents, Stefano and Maria G. Pacitto. In 1901, they were living at 17 Salop Street, along with Antonio’s siblings Rosa, Francesco, Domenico, Maria C., Maria L., Maria S., and Ernesto. Antonio’s father died in 1907.
Antonio (now anglicised to Anthony) enlisted in Glasgow in the 12th (Service) Battalion of the Highland Light Infantry (number 3688). He was killed in action on 13 August 1916. He is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial.
