The son of Frederick and Amelia Blencowe, Percy was born in Wolverhampton on 17 November 1893. He was baptised in St Andrew’s Church on 7 December 1893. They were at 101 Coleman Street in 1901, with Percy’s brothers George and Edgar and sister Ada. By 1911 they were living at 98 Lowe Street, Wolverhampton, together with Percy’s brother Edgar and sister Ada. Percy was a coal wheeler in a retail coal yard.
On 15 November 1915, Percy enlisted in the Highland Light Infantry under his middle name, Edward (number 28826). He was wounded, and discharged on 5 July 1918. He was granted a Silver War Badge (number 422772). I cannot find any further records of Percy, other than that he died in Wolverhampton in 1975.
