Margaret Lloyd was born in about 1853, although I have been unable to find her birth record. She married Brian Broughton in Wolverhampton in 1870, but he died in 1892. She married Edward Bates in Wolverhampton in 1898, but he died in 1900. By 1911, she was living at The Poplars, Penn, together with a servant, Martha Louisa Rogers.
In 1915, she became a Secretary and General Superintendent of the Pennfields Red Cross Working Party, and she served in this role until 1919. Her address during this period was “Sunny Cote”, Coalway Road, Wolverhampton. Margaret died in Wolverhampton in 1935.
