Albert was born in Wolverhampton in 1888, the son of William George and Elizabeth Blews. In 1891, he was living at 23 Sutherland Place, Wolverhampton, together with his parents, sister Mary Ann, brothers William George and Benjamin, and visitors William, Selina and Elizabeth Powers. They have moved to 57 Sutherland Place by 1901 and are still there in 1911, with the addition of three more sisters (Florrie, Nellie and Lilly) and two brothers (Fred and Sidney). The 23-year-old Albert has become a rivetter.
Albert enlisted as a Private with the 1st/6th Battalion of the South Staffordshire Regiment (service number 3230), but was killed in action on 1 July 1916.
