Edward Millington was born in Wolverhampton in 1885, the son of Robert and Hannah Millington. In 1901, they were living at 12 New Sun Street, together with Edward’s brother Fred and sisters Gertrude and Martha. In 1911, he married Margaret A. Skelton, and they had a son, William, born in 1912. At some point he worked for Mander Brothers Limited.
Edward enlisted in the 5th Battalion of the Yorkshire Regiment (number 260143). He was wounded, and died of his wounds on 11 November 1917. He is buried at the Mendinghem Military Cemetery, Belgium. He also appears on the Heath Park memorial and the Mander Brothers memorial. Edward’s wife, Margaret, remarried in 1923 to Edward W. Murray.
